This recipe was super fun to make for the kids! They enjoyed deconstructing their breakfast and dipping it in syrup. They definitely ate more fruit that morning than typical. Win!

French Toast on a Stick

This is a fun and unique way to make french toast!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups French Bread cubed
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Honey optional
  • 8 Strawberries
  • 2 Bananas
  • 16 Blueberries
  • Wooden Skewers

Instructions

  1. Whisk together milk, eggs, cinnamon, and honey (if using).

  2. Cut bread into big cubes and dip in the milk mixture to coat each side. 

  3. Use a griddle or skillet, over medium heat. Spray cooking spray or melt butter, and put your soaked bread cubes on. Cook for 1.5 minutes per side. 

  4. Skewer the french toast cubes, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. Serve with maple syrup for dipping.

Using a cookie cutter to make unique shapes out of your french toast, really spices up the average breakfast! We let our kids pick out their shape and cut them out.

Cute French Toast Stars

Spice up the normal breakfast by taking your average french toast and making them into stars!

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Thick White Bread
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Almond Extract

Instructions

  1. Place a slice of white bread on a cutting board. Use your cookie cutter to make your shape. It is a good idea to take a knife and cut around the edge of the cookie cutter to ensure it has cut through. 

  2. In a bowl, mix together eggs, cinnamon, milk, honey, vanilla, and almond extract.

  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Spray with cooking spray or melt 1-2 tbsp of butter.

  4. Dip both sides of your french toast in the liquid mixture and transfer to the griddle or skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side or until heated through and slightly browning on each side. 

  5. Serve immediately with syrup. 

French Toast Roll-Ups

Of all of the french toast recipes, these are always a kid favorite. French toast, some sugar, Nutella strawberries – you just can’t go wrong! We have used cream cheese instead of Nutella, but overall we prefer the chocolate of Nutella.

Stuffed French Toast Rolls

These french toast rolls are perfect for little hands to grab and eat.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Bread
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Almond Extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 8 Strawberries sliced

Instructions

  1. Take your bread, cut the crusts off, and flatten it with a rolling pin. 

  2. Use about 1 tsp of Nutella and spread it along one side of the bread. Put a few of your sliced strawberries on top of the Nutella spread. Roll the bread tightly. 

  3. In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, and almond extract. In a separate bowl, mix your cinnamon and sugar. 

  4. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium-heat. Spray with cooking spray or use 1-2 tablespoons butter. 

  5. Dip your rolled bread into the egg mixture and then put in the pan. Cook about 2 minutes per side.

  6. Take out and immediately roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
