Do you make a lot of homemade baby food purées for your little one? One of our favorite Instagram accounts @lunchesandlittles makes excellent meals for her three kids, including a handful of delicious baby purees.

With her first child, she used a lot of store bought baby food because making baby food sounded too complicated. But she’s the first to tell you that she was wrong!

Benefits of Homemade Baby Food Purées

Making homemade baby food is not only really easy, it also allows you to know exactly what you are feeding your babe.

Making baby purées is actually less expensive than buying individual baby food jars from the store. Plus, it gets your tiniest family member eating nutritious foods like rest of the family.

Instructions
  1. Take 1 cob of sweet corn; remove the husks and wash the cob. Then, cut off all of the kernels (I use a corn on the cob peeler, but a sharp knife will do the trick!). Once all of the kernels are off the cob, set them aside.
  2. Next, take 3 medium sized-sized strawberries; cut the stems off, and then slice the strawberries into smaller pieces and set aside.
  3. Lastly, take 1.5 bananas; peel and slice. Set aside.
  4. Steam corn kernels, banana slices and strawberry slices together.
  5. Once soft/steamed, blend together, using a small amount of breastmilk or formula to reach desired consistency (if too thick). I only used a very small amount, as our consistency was almost perfect without the addition of the milk!
  6. Serve to baby immediately, and freeze any extra puree to serve at a later time.

  3. Once cooled, dice your pear halves.
  4. Next, steam your apple and pear pieces with a dash more of ground cinnamon. Once steamed, blend steamed apples and pears
